My Journey to Becoming a Photographer

Many of us spend years planning our careers, envisioning that perfect job and the life that comes with it. I was no different. But life often takes unexpected turns, guiding us toward where we’re truly meant to be. For me, that place was behind a camera, where I found my true calling as a photographer.

Life Before Photography

Before discovering my love for photography, my life looked quite different. I studied business management at UNC Charlotte, but halfway through my third year, I realized that this path wasn’t right for me. Deep down, I knew I was meant to be a creative. My journey into photography began while working at various boutique jobs during my early adult years, where I spent my days curating images designed to captivate consumers.

My First Camera: The Start of My Photography Career

I’ve always believed that while anyone can learn to operate a camera, capturing the magic that evokes emotion requires a special eye—something I discovered business school didn’t quite nurture in me. In 2020, a spontaneous decision to buy my dream car led me to purchase my first Nikon D3200. Little did I know, this would be the beginning of my photography career.

Automotive Photography: Where It All Began

My first photos were of my car, and they remain some of my favorites to this day. What started as a personal project quickly turned into professional opportunities. I began working with car service companies, managing their social media and providing them with high-quality automotive photography. Before long, I had established myself as a photographer in the automotive world.

Where's My Photography Now?

My photography journey didn’t stop with cars. It naturally expanded into capturing people, couples, weddings, and creative projects. Today, I proudly consider myself an "everything" photographer. My mission is to capture the raw, real essence of people and moments, creating timeless images that tell a story.

From boutiques to weddings and everything in between, my journey as a photographer has been nothing short of amazing. Life doesn’t always go as planned, but sometimes, it leads you exactly where you’re meant to be.
